Position: Executive General Manager, Commercial
Sam was appointed Exploration General Manager, Commercial of Ivanhoe Australia in February 2010.
Sam was previously with Rio Tinto and most recently was Chief Negotiator for Rio Tinto for the Investment Agreement for the Oyu Tolgoi Project in Mongolia. Sam has extensive mining industry experience in many parts of the world and has worked in a variety of commodity and functional roles within Rio Tinto, including industrial minerals, base metals, exploration, investment evaluation, business development, and capital market transactions. He brings a wide range of commercial and industry-specific skills to Ivanhoe.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Laws (Hons), University of Melbourne and a Masters of Business Administration, Melbourne Business School Rupert Murdoch Fellowship.
